We applied for her AP renewal on July 1st 2009 and on the status page, it says approval notice sent on July 16th. At the same time I also see a soft LUD on her I-485. The new date is 07/15/2009 but no status update. Are these two events connected or is someone actually looking at her I-485? Note, she is not current per priority date, however Texas processing times have been updated recently.

Any comments?

I am not sure how the Bill gets intorduced into the senate...but if only the h1 increase is the sticking point in the skil .....for now lets only focus of the visa retrogression and the waiver for visa numbers for people with STEM degrees and quicker processing of BEC's....I think we need to get the benefit in smaller chunks...

Hello All,

Finally we got all the receipt numbers today. We (I and family) had filed at NSC on July 2; called USCIS today and IO said the data was entered in the system yesterday (Oct 29).. he also gave me and my family's receipt numbers.

This should give all of who are waiting for Receipt Notices some hope !!

I know its very frustrating; but be a little more patient is what I can say at this moment ..! Good things dont come easy is what I learnt from all this exercise..

Kaisersose thank you for your reply. Is their a time limit for how long I have to work for the GC filling employer? what worries me is if they fire me in lets say 1 month after hire during their probation period am I safe? Even though i was working part time some where else.

As you have a GC, you can work for any employer in the range {A, B, C...Z}, work for 2 or more of them simultaneously and handle any kind of job. There is no law that will create a problem out of this during naturalization.

Of course, one can do this with a 485 EAD too, but there is the one restriction of "same or similar".

Guys:
I am currently working through a Consulting company at a client location.
Now, if I were to join the "same" client location as an employee after the 180 day completion of having filed I-485, what are the things that I need to keep in touch before I make this transition.

I do have EAD that is valid till Sep'08. Do I need to tell the client company that my I-485 is pending and that I can work using EAD or should I apply as anyone who would apply for the position without any strings...!!!

I would really appreciate if you guys can let me know any nuiances that I need to be aware of and any caveats that exist in this situation.

I appreciate your time and good luck to all to get the GC as soon as possible.

My H1 has expired on 31st August, 2009. My disgraced company applied for extention in the month of May 2009 in regular Processing. Still waiting for Approval and have Receipt Notice only from Vermount center.:confused::mad::(:(:eek::eek:

My questions are:
1. What happens to my wife's I-485 application, should I choose to leave my job and go back to school ?
2. Will her EAD still be valid if I leave my job ?
2. I am planning to go full-time starting Fall 2010. Will we be able to renew her EAD independent of my work status ?

1. No Impact. Since you have been working for GC employer for a while, you can use green card to work for any employer, study, or not to work at all.
2. Her EAD is based on her I-485 application. Her EAD will be valid.

Thanks for your responses. The hospital staff told us it would take 60-90 days to get the SSN. I am stuck until that arrives because only then can I apply for the passport. Any way to get around it?

Hey guys,

My MTR was approved almost 3 months ago and my attorney received the MTR approval notice.

The decision was that both mine and my wife's I-485's are reopened.

But its been almost 3 months and online status on USCIS website has not changed yet......

Does anyone noticed the same situtation with their MTR approval and no online status change?

i got them by calling USCIS yesterday.

I spoke personally to the SFO consulate and they said , unless you have something in your passport that is valid you need a transit visa. They dont care about other forms of travel.
