Too early to quit dvd altogether:confused:
If its up to me to should throw that medium into the wastebin asap.
I don't see why it's too early to ditch DVD-Rom for OS installing, since every single mac has USB ports.

Ask the employee about on the job horror stories. then share some of your horror stories. Once that's been settled and a few laughs have been made just ask some simple questions (how do you like working here, do you go to school, are you a psycho and etc). once you guys have a vibe goin on ask her/him if he/she is single. Then whip out your phone and get the digits.

3. long exposures at night are godly
4. Don't use the flash at night.

Hey Gary... don't worry.
Had it myself for the first time just over 6 weeks ago for major surgery.
It's not like sleep at all: no dreaming, no tossing & turning etc.
In my case, the anaesthetist was in a small room off from the main theater. I was wheeled in on my bed. Some lines were inserted into my left hand and forearm, he disappeared behind me to check something... we chatted for a few seconds and then... I woke up in a large sunny room.
It will seem like a handful of seconds will have passed since the anaesthetist induced full anaesthesia and waking up in the recovery room. Depending on the surgery they will have already put you on post-op pain relief and you may just feel fine and dandy like I did. Upon awakening, they will probably ask you a few simple questions to ascertain your mental state.
Afterwards, you may be thirsty -- don't gulp water, though. It can leave you feeling nauseous. If you can manage it, it's also quite nice to have something a little starchy yet easy to digest like half a banana or a cookie, if doctors allow you to take food.
Afterwards, I was on a morphine drip for 5 days and oral painkillers for the entire time in hospital -- I'm still on them now but a much-reduced dose...
It's important to mobilise yourself as soon as the nurses let you. Take little gentle walks around the place -- gets the circulation, respiration and digestive system up and running.

I read somewhere that for most users their local ISP's DNS servers are faster than some of the other options out there like Google's.
I did some tests and it was definately true for me. I'm sure it's not true for everyone, but it's worth testing instead of blindly just changing.
But most have nothing set up. I'm not exactly sure what that does, I think adds an extra step in querying the ISP. That always slows me down.
And, of course, the other half can be an issue, too. People never talk about that except when they want to download a brand new firmware or something. I see "waiting for xyz.com" plenty.

Intel HD 3000 + Backlit Keyboard = two wastes of money.
Doesn't bother me. I am always a bit bemused by the obsession with the backlit keyboard - I know plenty of people that turn it off! As long as I can find one key in the dark, I can find every other - and the space bar is hard to miss!

So, you WILL get different focal lengths from 2 identically marked lenses where one is an EF-S lens and the other is an EF lens.

Edit: to clarify, if you take an EF 17-40mm and put it on a 60D, you will get the exact same field of view as an EF-S 17-55mm if both are set to 17mm.

...that has a proper keyboard. A larger screen. A 160 or maybe 250 or even 500 gb hard drive. multiple USB ports, vga and maybe even HDMI. Can multitask, run the Office apps the business world actually uses, play any movie format including HD content, DIvx, H264 etc, browse the web with Safari. Or Firfox. Or Opera. With flash...that works.
Compared to a 'Crappy' netbook, even the cheap iPad is very expensive.
Valid points, honestly. But, what negates your argument is that:
1. the netbook user experience is terrible. (come one, be honest... it is)
2. proper keyboard? really? honestly, dude, we can debate this, but I guess it's a matter of opinion. Netbooks keyboards are too cramped up for me.
3. larger screen? maybe by an inch or so. past that, it's no longer a netbook, it's a laptop.
4. by the time you add a larger HDD, the price balloons to over $600/$700, no? at least that's what I've seen. at that point, you're out of the netbook price range and into laptops again.
5. they all use Windows i.e. What good is a Ferrari body with all the bells and whistles if the engine is from a Hyundai
Again, I guess it's a matter of opinion. I do acknowledge that you bring valid points, but it just seems like, at that point, you're talking about a laptop, not a netbook.

the gap between office 2011 on mac and office 2011 on windows is very tiny now.
That's enough reason for me not to buy it. The ridiculous illogical placement of buttons on that damned ribbon destroys the user experience to such an extent that I can live with iWorks only.
It's about time Microsoft starts talking to actual users. I work in the typical MS Office business environment and I have NEVER met anyone who is completely happy with the user experience of the office package.
That's enough reason for me not to buy it. The ridiculous illogical placement of buttons on that damned ribbon destroys the user experience to such an extent that I can live with iWorks only.

It's a shame, however, that Apple will probably never link to this page due to the fact that they are not #1 on the list. The similiarity in performance of the G4 system and the Pentium system speaks highly of the efficiency of the G4 processor.
