Outlook still only works with gmail email. There is no support for gmail calendars, contacts, todo's, etc...
Outlook is still unusable.

NOTHING will be released until January. Looking at the buyer's guide, only two products since January 2002 have been released in November or December. The two exceptions are the 1.8 GHz Dual PowerMacG5 and the 20" iMac G4. To my understanding, no iPod line has ever been released or revised in November or December. I can see an iPhone being released at MWSF, but I doubt it as I haven't seen any evidence of it in Engadget Mobile's FCC Fridays report. True video iPod: I don't know why they'd do something like that. What's wrong with the design of the iPod with a physical wheel and all that's been used for five years?

Most of my ever growing set of hand tools is American made...you really can't beat the quality and durability. I inherited an all-American car that I can't say really fits me, but I laugh in my German/Swedish car-owning friends faces come maintenance time.

I don't want a boring DVD. I want Lion to come on one of those cool MacBook Air-style memory sticks, only compatible with ThunderBolt.
I too think a USB installation stick would be cool, but easy to lose, I'd imagine! On the flip-side, you can scratch DVDs.

They're going to realize that the existing machines they have- or Windows machines that can be had for much cheaper- are quite capable of handling any non-classified activity without switching to new hardware.
Absolutely correct. Unless you have a specialized workflow (ie in certain S&T positions), the vast majority of work is done within MS Office. Doesn't exactly require a workstation.
That being said, our biggest problem is the hardware differentiation. As a result, the software is a horrid mess because the "security" crap that's on all of our machines interacts with the configurations differently. People are used to blue screens popping up every now and then. Everything gets so bogged down. It's horrid. Would I recommend that everyone switch to a Mac? No. It would take far too long to teach all of the tech illiterate what to do. It would be nice to have as an option for "the rest of us." The relatively small amount of hardware customization possible would help IT a bit too.

New MacBooks are coming out this month.
That's a fact.
Oh it is, is it?
Remember, it is up to you if you want to participate in this waiting game.

MS chose not to support calDEV, so no support for google calendars :(
MS Office is BUSINESS software, and Google calendars is not necessarily what I would call a widely accepted and adopted business solution. What the typical Office customer wants is Sharepoint and Exchange Server integration.
(Project and Visio ports would also be more than welcome. OmniGraffle Pro is nice, but most hardcore Visio users either don't find it suitable or just are not comfortable with its different user interface.)

welcome to the team and thanks for joining!
as for a dedicated GPU, it depends. you can run a GPU folding client, which will use your video card for folding, and you can still run a CPU client also. right now, nvidia cards work much better for folding.
what setup do you have now?
its running a 2.6 Ghz Dual Core with 2 GB of memory, Intel GMA X4500, and windows xp. it just runs F@H at the moment so i would like to use it to the best of its ability.

Pages and Numbers are much easier to use, and far nicer to look at than Office. If I don't need the horsepower I prefer iWork. If I do need the horsepower I have Office 2003 running on a late 2009 mini that is Windows 7 only. Office 2003 works great with W7, and it's not all blue looking like some of the newer versions.
As usual Windows runs MS software much better than Mac OS does.
They made Mac OS office very similar to the windows counterpart in the 2011 version. Granted its not 100% the same but the gap between office 2011 on mac and office 2011 on windows is very tiny now.

Great news. Bug fixes are always welcome, and I really hope it speeds up Office and Adobe CS2 since those two pigs are taking their sweet time making their apps universal.

My Vzw iPhone also had this issue last night, but it shows the correct time now. And judging from other posts, Vzw fixed this issue at some point in the night. I bet a lot of vzw iphones were affected, but most people did not notice any issue because it happened while most ppl were asleep and it was resolved by morning..

That's enough reason for me not to buy it. I have NEVER met anyone who is completely happy with the user experience of the office package.
Do you mean you have actually met people that are totally happy. Really dam your lucky I have never met people in all my life that did not bitch about everything...take your pick they hate something of it even their own kids.

In CT we are taxed I believe 50 cents on every gallon. The problem is that as gas prices rise people buy less of it and the taxes dry up.
3.003.50 USD per gallon (only in taxes!) would be more appropriate, don't you think? :D
No-one's going to tell me that petrol is expensive in the U.S.

Anyone even remotely thinking of voting for Trump should watch this video from last night's Anderson Cooper show. (Part 2 airs tonight Tuesday 4/26)
http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/26/video-trump-doubles-down-on-birtherism/
Or if you prefer to read about it instead:
http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/25/trump-claims-obama-birth-certificate-missing/
I used to somewhat respect this man. But the more he blathers on, the less I like or respect him. He doesn't sound that far removed from a carnival sideshow barker at this point. Definitely not Presidential material.
